Residential Project Competition for NUANU, Bali, 2023. Nuanu is a city of
the future in Bali for innovators from all over the world, for collaboration,
research, business, and projects. Our task was to develop several
residential buildings with apartments as well as public areas for work,
relaxation, sports, and various practices (yoga, meditation, etc.).
The philosophy of the project is minimalism. The project was based on the
Japanese urban planning model with dense buildings and closed
courtyards. Since, according to the technical specifications from the
customer, the building density is quite high, the task was to form a non-
trivial structure of transitions between various residential blocks to move
away from standard development and its depressing effect on people.
We developed a system of residential blocks with transitions between them and atriums, which serve as public spaces and add variety to the development. The project also considers the need for private spaces and the possibility of isolation and privacy; each apartment has an outdoor private terrace.

In the master plan for residential development, we used straight,
understandable forms that are convenient for construction and for living (for
arranging furniture, for example), and for public areas, we chose the shape
of a circle; thus, this technique intuitively makes the visitor understand the
functionality of a particular building or zone.
For the facades, we used laconic materials and straight forms so as not to overload the space. The asceticism of forms and materials and the absence of visual and information noise allow you not to be distracted by unnecessary things and to turn to your inner self.

When designing, we created a whole system of interconnected atriums,
courtyards, transitions between them, and passages to the living space.
This makes the development more interesting. Residents will want to explore, wander around the complex, and find new places.

An exploitable roof was used wherever possible, which added multifunctionality to the building. In addition to the ground passage, bridges have been developed between the buildings.
As part of the project, several residential buildings were developed, and furniture and equipment layouts were worked out.
We set ourselves a task
to create a non-trivial structure of the complex, a space that you want to explore, observe, find something new for yourself every time, enjoy the purity of lines, the play of light and shadow, and simply feel comfortable in an environment commensurate with a person.
